La centella asiatica es un ingrediente que se ha vuelto muy popular en las cosmética coreana, en el último año muchas de las marcas que sigo han lanzado líneas que la tienen como ingrediente clave en sus formulaciones. Dicho ingrediente tiene propiedades calmantes e hidratantes que fueron las que me convencieron para animarme a probar la esencia de Elizavecca que clama tener 100% extracto de  centella asiatica.

La centella asiatica (también conocida como hierba del tigre o gotu kola) es una planta utilizada tanto en la cocina como en la medicina tradcional asiática. Se le atribuyen propiedades cicatrizantes, antioxidantes, antiinflamatorias, calmantes entre otras. Sus compuestos activos incluyen triterpenos pentacíclicos (pentacyclic triterpenes), principalmente asiaticosido (asiaticoside), madecassósido (madecassoside), ácidos asiáticos (asiatic acids) y madecásicos (madecassic acids)

La Centella Asiatica además de ser hidratante tiene propiedades antioxidantes que ayudan a mitigar los daños ocasionados por el sol. También ayuda a aumentar la producción de colágeno; al respecto hay un estudio que dice que usada con ácido glicólico, vitamina A, E y C aumentó la síntesis de la matriz extracelular de colágeno, por lo que se puede decir que tiene propiedades cicatrizantes.

Centella Asiatica (known like tiger grass or gotu kola) is a plant used as a culinary vegetable and as a medicinal herb in Asia. It is attributed healing, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, soothing properties among others. Its active compounds include  pentacyclic triterpenes, mainly asiaticoside, madecassoside, asiatic and madecassic acids.

Besides it's being moisturizing it has antioxidant properties that help mitigate the damage caused by the sun. It also helps increase collagen production; here we can read  a study that says that used with glycolic acid, vitamin A, E and C increased the synthesis of extra-cellular matrix of collagen, so it can be said that it has healing properties. 

Creo que la mejor forma para contarles mi experiencia con éste producto es que lo haga por partes, y de esa forma también pongo en orden mis ideas :)

Textura, color y envase: Tiene una consistencia muy liquida, pero al ser aplicada en la piel se siente viscosa y oleosa, pero no es un sensación mala, es como una capa de humectación que queda sobre el rostro. En el envase se puede ver que el líquido es café, pero no se preocupen que al ser aplicado en la piel el color no es perceptible. El envase es de cristal y tiene una boquilla por la que sale el producto, pero al tener manos de mantequilla, he colocado partes del producto en otro envase más pequeño y de plástico que además me ayuda a dispensar mejor el líquido.

Cómo lo uso: Al ser un producto calmante lo utilizo en mi rutina nocturna después de haber colocado el AHA o BHA de Cosrx. Deja mi piel calmada y al tener la cosistencia aceitosa humecta la piel, luego aplico un serum más denso, ya sea de propóleo o el Rich Moist de Klairs. Sí tu no usas ácidos en tu rutina facial, el orden en el que se aplicaría ésta esencia es después de la limpieza, para después aplicar un tónico hidratante, serum y crema.

Mi experiencia: Hablaré d sus propiedades hidratantes, calmantes, antiinflamatorias y cicatrizantes. Las primeras dos las he notado, ya que al aplicar ácido glicólico o BHA en mi rutina nocturna la piel queda seca y un poco sensible, por lo que al aplicar la esencia la  piel queda hidratada y suave. En cuanto a sus propiedades antinflamatorias no he notado nada espectacular, porque cuando me ha salido mi típico grano del mes enquistado, inflamado y rojo, el período para que la inflamación baje es la misma como si no usara la esencia. En lo que sí he notado un gran cambio es en mis cicatrices de acné las cuales no están tan profundas y la piel de mis mejillas se ve más lisa y rellena.

Entonces, ¿repetiré? Sí! Me ha gustado mucho el cambio en mi piel y creo que si sigo utilizándola por más tiempo las marcas de acné se van a seguir mejorando.

I think the best way to explain my experience with this product is to separate my ideas:

Texture, color and packaging: It has a watery consistency but when you apply it on the face it feels sticky and oily, it's not a bad sensation it's like a layer of moisturizing on the skin. In the bottle the liquid is brown, but on the skin this color is not perceptible. The glass bottle has an orifice where the essence comes out. 

The way I use it. Because of its smoothing properties I use it on my night routine after applying the AHA or BHA form Cosrx. It leaves my skin calm and thanks to its oily and sticky consistency it helps me to moisture my face. Then I use a propolis serum or the Rich Moist from Klairs. If you don't use acids or vitamin C on your skin, this essence must be apply after cleansing your face, then your toner, serum,  and finally your cream. 

My experience: I'm going to talk about its smoothing, moisturizing, anti-inflammatory and healing properties. The first two I've noticed on my skin after using glycolic acid or BHA, because my skin feels tight and dry, with this essence my skin feels smooth and moisture. About its anti-inflammatory properties I think it didn't work because when my typical pimple of the month wich is swollen, red and inflamed, the period for the inflammation to go down is the same as if I did not use the essence. However I have noticed a big change in my acne scars which are not so deep and the skin of my cheeks looks smoother and fuller.

Then, would I buy it again? Yes! I've really liked the change in my skin and I think that if I continue to use it for a longer time, the acne marks will continue to improve.

Como dije al principio aún sigo experimentando con las máscaras de pestañas. Lo que menos me gustó de la máscara que usé de Holika Holika fue que era difícil de retirar, por lo que para mi segunda máscara no estaba muy convencida de probar otra con esa característica, pero al leer la infografía del producto menciona que a pesar de ser a prueba de agua es fácil de retirar con agua tibia, así que la compré.

Rivecowe no es una marca extraña para mí, éste es el tercer producto que pruebo de la marca y digamos que ha estado bien. La máscara se comporta bien, deja una pestañas naturales y para nada dramáticas. El cepillo me ha gustado, es grueso y peina muy bien las pestañas. La fórmula es un poco densa pero hasta el momento no me deja grumos en las pestañas. Respecto al tema que más me preocupaba que era la forma de desmaquillar, debo decir que se retira muy bien con el bálsamo desmaquillante y que no necesito usar agua tibia.

Lo que no me ha gustado del todo es el aroma, que ya he percibido en otras máscaras, pero en ésta es mucho más intenso, es como plástico, aunque mi mamá dice que es más como a tinta. El olor no se queda en la pestaña, pero la apliación es algo molesta para mí por ese detalle.

No volvería a comprarla, porque no la he encontrado maravillosa. Seguiré probando y veremos si algún día encuentro una que ma haga recordar usarla todos los días.

As I said before I'm still trying mascaras, so I don't have many experience on them. My first mascara was the Holika Holika fixing mascara that I didn't like because it wasn't easy to remove, this aspect made me think that I must try a no waterproof mascara, but when I was reading the info of this product the brand mention despite it is a waterproof mascara is easy to remove, so I bought it.

Rivecowe isn't new for me,  this is my third product and I can say that the experience has been good. The mascara works well, leaves a normal look on the lashes. The brush has a conic shape and spreads easily on my eyelashes. The consistency is a little thick but until this moment it doesn't leave grumes. Regarding the topic that I was most worried about was the way to remove it, I can say that it take off very well with my oily cleanser and I don't need to use lukewarm water.

The scent is the thing that I like less, it's like other mascaras, but in this one the smell like plastic is more intense, though my mom says that the aroma is more like to ink and not plastic. Fortunately the aroma is not keep on the eyelashes.

I would not buy it again, because I have not found it wonderful, I will try another mascaras and maybe someday I find one that makes me remember to use it every day.

Y siguiendo en la busqueda por un contorno de ojos para mi contorno seco me topé con éste de la marca japonesa SANA que lo compré para completar el envío gratis en Yesstyle jaja. Así que ahora les podré contar si valió la pena el haberlo comprado o sí fue un rotundo fracaso.

Sobre los ingredientes el Retinyl Palmitate parace ser el más controversial de todos. Según la marca es un ingrediente clave para combatir las arrugas, pero en la ficha de INCIdecoder se menciona que no hay suficiente evidencia científica que demuestre ser un aliado contra las arrugas, además de que hay un estudio que demuestra que es fotoprotectora contra los rayos UVB, pero también hay otro estudio que muestra que la Retinyl Palmite causa daño en el ADN y citotoxicidad en asociación con los rayos UVA. Sin embargo no hay suficientes estudios que demuestren que éste ingrediente esté relacionado con el cáncer de piel, por lo que si un producto lo tiene es mejor usarlo de noche.

Si he de ser sincera no esperaba mucho de éste contorno de ojos, pero la verdad ha resultado ser bueno, es decir hidrata y humecta pero tampoco es espectacular, es como todos los contornos de ojos que he probado. Está bien pero no me ha enamorado.

Al momento de aplicarlo deja la piel suave y con un ligero brillo. Su textura es la de una crema densa y al principio se siente un poco siliconada,  pero esa sensación desaparece a los cinco minutos de haberla aplicado. Además recién aplicada se ve la piel brillosa, como si tuviera una capa oleosa, lastimosamente ese efecto de jugosidad no permanece por mucho tiempo.

Lo he estado usando desde finales de marzo y no he notado ninguna mejora en la zona de la ojera, mi línea de expresión sigue allí y mis ojeras también jaja. A pesar de que tiene Retinyl Palmitate y se recomienda usar durante la noche los productos con éste ingrediente, yo lo uso tanto en mi rutina de día como en la de noche, aunque durante el día siempre aplico protector solar en la zona de la ojera, y puede ser que por ésto no he tenido un efecto adverso en cuanto a la pigmentación de la piel alrededor de mis ojos.

Me parece un contorno de ojos que hidrata bien la zona, pero dudo mucho que en pieles muy secas funcione, tampoco esperen que les ayude a mejorar arrugas y finas líneas de expresión, hay más productos para el contorno de ojos que probar y no creo que vuelva a comprarlo.

If I have to be honest I didn't expect much from this eye cream but it resulted a good product. It moisturizes very well. It's not the EYE CREAM, but is like most of the eye contour I've tried.

When I apply it on the contour area the skin feels smooth and leaves a tiny glow. It has a middle thick texture that feels a little silicone on the skin, but this sensation disappears after five minutes of applying it. Also newly applied I got the shiny skin effect, as if it had an oily layer, unfortunately that effect of juiciness does not remain for long.

I've been using it since the end of March and I have not noticed any improvement in the eye contour area, my line of expression is still there and the pigmigtention of my dark circles is the same haha. Although it has Retinyl Palmitate and it is recommended to use products with this ingredient  during at night, I use it both in my day and night routine but  I always apply sunscreen in the area around the eyes, and it may be that this is why I have not had an adverse effect on the pigmentation of the skin around my eyes.

I think is an eye contour that moisturizes the area well, but I doubt that in people with dry skin it works and don't expect to help them improve wrinkles and fine lines. There are more products for the eye area to try and I don't buy it again.
